Fred Girard

On special occasions, Duo sur Canap' is energized by the addition of drummer Fred Girard. A versatile musician, Girard's studies at the C.R.R. in Saint-Denis, Réunion Island, and the centre d'informations musicales in Paris (CIM) have contributed to his rich musical background. While living on Reunion Island, he performed with various groups, including the François Jeanneau Quartet and the Rock band Rapido's. In 2002, he moved to Montpellier, playing jazz-funk, latin-jazz, and electro-jazz with various bands. He later focused on projects with Hidjaz, the Juliette Pradelle Quartet, and the Georges Crébassa Project, recording several albums. Since 2015, he has been the drummer for Mess Drey (soul-funk, hip-hop), the Mister Bred Trio (jazz-funk), and has accompanied the Marc Hévéa trio on Claude Nougaro's repertoire. Finally, since 2020, he has been the official drummer for Duo sur Canap', transforming the duo into a trio!
